Kitty Project, Round 1

As of April 20, I’ve started adding kitties to my portfolio. Many of the references were acquired at random through Upsplash and Pixabay, but I am looking for *yours.*

If you have some interesting pictures of your cats, especially if they are doing funny stuff, contact me at Karen@Sketch-Views.com.

Dachshund Project: Round 2

I finished 14 Doxie sketches in the first Dachshund Project, and started the next today with 38 new pictures from the Dachshund Lovers Group on Facebook. The picture I sketch uses a number that a group member selects which matches a random number assigned to each photo.

In this round, I’ll be trying out different styles. There will be a few more Doxie posts then I’m on to cats.

The Dachshund Project

This March I offered to draw/paint pictures of Facebook’s Dachshund Lovers Group’s pets. Thinking that only a few people would take me up on my offer, I almost immediately got 55 responses!

So to be fair to everyone, I assigned a random number to each respondee, then set up a procedure where I asked the first person responding to my post to pick a number from 1 to 100. The random number (or next one in line), therefor, identified what picture I’d draw next.

On April 7, I will develop a new list of Dachshund Lovers and will start a new page of sketches.

Cartoon Animals: Animals as People

While It is fun to sketch animals in a highly stylized, yet serious manner, it is equally fun to play around with images. Here are a group of sketches from “Changing Places,” which characterized animals doing human work.
