Photos of Giant Puppets Created By the Puppeteers' Cooperative
[ NEW YORK, NY - NYC - 7/28/2007, updated 11/20/2010 - www.Littleviews.com ]
>> The photos below, taken by Karen Little of Littleviews, are of a giant puppet exhibit held in 2007 at the Grand Army Plaza (Brooklyn Arch) in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to being on exhibit, the puppets had come to life in pageants, parades, and festivals.
The show, sponsored by the Puppeteers' Cooperative, was staged in the arch along a steep, narrow, circular staircase, making the puppet display unusually dramatic (and the climb to see all of them somewhat harrowing). Puppets were inserted in every nook, hung above and below the staircase, and dramatized by expertly-placed lighting.
